The town of Kanchanaburi and its famous River Kwai offer the visitor an exciting range of tours. From the natural splendour of nearby caves and grottos to the brutal local history of World War 2, Kanchanaburi has it all. Here are some ideas for half-day tours we think you will enjoy, but we will be happy to arrange any other tour you care to suggest. Please note that prices on half-day tours do not include any entrance fees. Choose from:Tiger TempleEver stroked a tiger? Well, here's your chance! Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua looks after several tigers and other animals too. So far 10 tiger cubs have been born there. In the afternoon, the tigers are led from their cages by monks and the braver visitors have a chance to pet them. All the temple's animals are maintained and fed by donations. Boat TripAn exhilarating journey along the River Kwai's fascinating banks. You'll visit Bridge on the River Kwai, the JEATH Museum, Chongkai Cemetery and Kao Poon Caves. Price per person Bt400
Temple VisitTake a tour of three of Kanchanaburi's most famous temples. Wat Tam Kao No, Wat Tam Sua and Wat Ban Tam present a range of styles, from pure Theravada architecture to the exotic Chinese style.Price per person Bt400
Floating MarketShop the traditional Thai way! Take a trip to the floating market at Damnoen Saduak and let your senses be assailed by the huge and colourful variety of fruit and vegetables on offer. Night SafariFancy bathing an elephant? Take a trip to the elephant camp, ride an elephant along the banks of the River Kwai and then it's bath time!
